Our Ministries

MSEPC’s congregation is transforming our church into a lighthouse in the middle of the Poconos.  Through outreach, ministries and mission work our dedicated congregation is building, upon HIS foundation, a tower that will shine His light for all to see. We are building it to help those located at an important or dangerous crossroad in their life, to light the path for those that are lost and to illuminate his ways for those seeking more information.  Our desire is to share the word, to make disciples, to reach those in need and to help grow our community both near and far.  Come join us and make a difference.

“As a result of your ministry, they will give glory to God.  For your generosity to them and to all believers will prove that you are obedient to the good news of Christ”

2Cor 9:13

Out Reach

Ministry

At MSEPC, the Missions & Outreach works to support and serve people in our community and beyond. The Reentry Program, a mission family serving China, and Kevin and Maria Noyes serving at Penn State University are some of those regularly supported.  In addition to those are dozens of other programs, including VBS during the summer and the upcoming Trunk or Treat event.

Women's

Ministry

MSEPC Women’s Ministry exists to serve our congregation and community through nurturing and empowering women of faith; in fulfilling the mission God has given us to do, « Go into the world and make disciples ».  We encourage, pray, read scriptures and fellowship with one another to uplift our sisters in Christ.

Music / Choir

We have a very active music ministry which includes the Praise Team and Choir.  All skill levels are accepted!  Sing His paises and join us in worship

Women in Action

Women in Action is a ministry that helps women discover their power through Jesus Christ.  Men are also welcomed!  There is a Bible study on the 3rd Saturday at 2:00pm in the church library.  We also organize an annual Women's Conference.

Discipleship

Each Sunday, at 9:00 AM, we gather the children to expand their knowledge of Our LORD.

For those a bit older we also offer opportunities to study His word:

Each Tuesday at 10:00AM - Women's Bible study, in our Library.  Come join your sisters in Christ!

Each Wednesday at 7:00PM - A Walk through the Bible, led by Pastor Jeff, in our Library, is a night filled with fellowship and learning

Togo, West Africa

In 2005 we were invited (in a way that could only be called a “God-thing”) to participate in a mission endeavor in the village of Agome-Tomegbe, in Togo, West Africa.  The leaders of the Presbyterian Church located in the village invited us to come and help with the construction of a new church building, the congregation having outgrown the old and crumbling building.  Nine members of MSPEC accepted the invitation, beginning what has become a close and on-going relationship with the people of Agome-Tomegbe

During the past 10 years we have sent 6 mission teams to the village to not only help with construction, but also provide clean drinking water via a new well, offer medical assistance, establish an orphanage, refurbish the school building, and provide material goods such as eye glasses, musical instruments, and school supplies.  We’ve also had opportunities to minister to and with the church there.  We’ve gone house to house praying for the needs of people, and have seen the Lord provide miracles beyond belief.  God’s power and love is overwhelming.

However, the relationship is far from one-sided; we have received as much, or more, from our relationship with the people of A/T as we’ve given.  The hospitality of people who have so little in the way of material goods has brought tears to our eyes time after time.  The love they have poured out on us has been so amazing!  They have sacrificed for us, and readily befriended us.  They have taught us what it means to be a cheerful giver, and how to worship Jesus exuberantly, unbound by the constraints we so often put on worship.  Additionally, on a number of occasions, former citizens of Tomegbe who now live in the USA have come and led us in worship in our sanctuary, bringing the African worship experience to all the members of MSEPC.  The beat of African drums has resounded in the sanctuary!

Pastor Jeff was able to return this past May (2015) for a celebration in the village.  The EEPT (Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Togo) elected its new moderator, a man who is not only originally from Agome-Tomegbe, but who has actually preached in our church in America!  He was installed in the newly completed church in Agome-Tomegbe (the new roof courtesy of the people at MSEPC).  Dignitaries from around the nation were there to celebrate Pastor Paul’s installation, and the celebration was beyond belief!  Choirs sang, drums beat, and the people of the village cheered and sang for hours.

The work isn’t over, and we will continue to partner with the good people of Agome-Tomegbe for years to come.
